Corpus Christi, TX (January 26,2001) -- It was announced today that Interconnect Services has been selected by a local holding company, Corpus Christi Bancshares Inc. as its Internet Service Provider for its First State Bank Branch. Likewise, Interconnect will provide the Internet Firewall systems for network security.
In their September 9, 2000 news release, the Corpus Christi Caller Times said, "A branch under the name First State Bank will be located at 555 N. Carancahua on the first floor of Tower II. The 6,000-square-foot facility will be a full-service bank with drive-through capabilities and a direct opening to Tower I. The staff is expected to number as many as 15."
"The Corpus Christi branch will also house the corporate office of its parent company, Corpus Christi Bancshares Inc., a private, state-chartered holding company that established itself in February and made First State Bank in Bishop its first acquisition."
"The bank will fill a need by giving local businesses a high level of attention," said Amador Garcia, a member of the Corpus Christi Bancshares board. "We're local new guys on the block," Garcia said. "As local people, we really have a pulse on the community better than the bigger guys."
More branches are planned for south and west Corpus Christi. In addition to adding a new branch, an ATM will be brought to Kingsville and the drive-though services will be improved in the Bishop location.
